Fox Glen Club Services: Most people do not realize that nearly every mile of organized trail continues to be open due to the hard work of your local snowmobile clubs. It is organizations like ours that approach land owners yearly to thank them for permission to use their properties, to provide land owners with thank you dinners, and to participate on your behalf with the Maine Snowmobile Association. While it is nice to ride free, a small donation of your time or member dues goes a long way. Keep trails open. Please share in the community and support your local trails by supporting the efforts of the Fox Glen Crew. Without your help we may all find ourselves with few places to ride, or having to drive hours to find a public access trail. There are several ways you can help keep our trails open. Land Owner Relations: Nothing is more crucial to our sport than land owner relationships. Without access to the land so graciously provided to us by land owners, we would be forced to trailer our sleds far and wide. We strive to maintain continuous local access so that snowmobilers, both local and visiting, can "get there from here". The Augusta area trails cross suburban areas and local fields and farmlands. It is important to respect those areas and to treat the land we ride on as if they are our own backyard. Every year Club representatives provide opportunities to interact with local land owners. From our public dinner coupons, to signed letters of thanks to all the land owners who's propery we do wonderfully still ride, we take every opportunity to show our appreciation. Trail Maintenance: Trail maintenance is also extremely important to the enjoyment of our sport. Every year hundreds of hours are spent creating new trails, trimming and smoothing existing trails, improving signage, and prepping the area for snow. We spend almost as much time in the summer and fall preparing trails as we do in the winter grooming them. Once winter comes we shift to getting the bridges in place, and grooming. Splitting time on each of the drags, we have 4-6 groomers out keeping our local trails smooth. Not content with just keeping up the ITS area, we also handle the grooming on some significant connector trails. We help connect your ITS trails to China, Vassalboro, Windsor, Winslow, Chelsea, Randolph, North Whitefield, and more.
